Whether you’re managing finances on a tight budget, looking for parenting advice, or just trying to find a little time for yourself, you’re in the right place.
As a solo mum, I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to juggle everything—raising a child, making ends meet, and still finding time for self-care. That’s why I’m passionate about sharing realistic, practical tips to help you feel more in control of your finances, build your confidence, and create a life you love. From budgeting and saving money to self-care and parenting, this blog is here to support you every step of the way.
Rachel - Solo Mum to one
Hi, I’m Rachel—solo mum, budgeting enthusiast, and the heart behind Solo Mum to One.
I created this blog to share my journey of overcoming challenges, rebuilding my confidence, and learning how to manage finances through frugal living and smart budgeting. I want to use my experiences to support and encourage other mums in navigating motherhood, finances, and self-care.
I became a solo mum when I was six months pregnant, facing the rest of my pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood alone. It wasn’t easy—I had to overcome mental health struggles, financial pressure, and the challenges of being a first-time mum with no support. Through it all, I learned how to manage money wisely, pay off debt, save for the future, and, most importantly, rediscover my self-worth. Now, I’m passionate about helping other mums feel empowered, in control of their finances, and confident in themselves—because taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.
Through Solo Mum to One, I hope to inspire you with practical tips, encouragement, and the knowledge you need to keep moving forward. Whether you’re looking for money saving advice, parenting support, or a reminder that you’re doing an amazing job, you’ll find it here.
And when I’m not blogging, you’ll find me on my YouTube channel Solo Mum to One or embracing all things old-school retro, loving life as a Disney fan and dog mum, and staying active as a fitness enthusiast. If you’re a fellow 80s baby who grew up in the 90s, we’ll get along just fine!
Let’s take this journey together—because you’re stronger than you think, and you’re never alone.
